07/31/2009 08/08/2009 [Time TBD] in Houghton, MI: aboard the Ranger III Are you thinking of going to Isle Royale this summer? Well, if you take the Ranger III over to the Island out of Houghton on Friday, July 31st, you can be treated to a concert on the ferry by yours truly! If you return on the 8th of August, you can hear another concert by a really tired yours truly. And in between, maybe a concert at Rock Harbor. Hard to believe that a concert can be packed on such a remote island, but it is true and is one of the best gigs I have ever done! You may know I was a resident artist in 1992 on the Island, and they graciously welcome me back to share my music, and they in turn share the island with me. I believe I get the best part of the deal!
Barb Barton is a performer who imparts wisdom, heart and courage into her songs and guitar playing, she defies categorization. Her music flows from traditional style to powerful acoustic rock. You have a house full of friends old and new, some tasty treats, and live music. Back in the "old days", people used to come together on a Saturday night just to sing. What a beautiful way to spend your evening!
